Youth Education Program

LEAN offers educational resources and services for youth who are at-risk for substance use (i.e., those found with THC products, paraphernalia, intoxicated, etc.), and/or behavioral concerns (i.e., anger management, anxiety, and peer relationships, etc.). These educational services are provided to youth and their families free of charge. For youth with higher-level needs, LEAN works to connect those youth with qualified professionals in their area.

LEAN tackles the concerns youth face through our Youth Educational Program (YEP) by:

1.       PROVIDING EDUCATION TO YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES:

LEAN provides education to at-risk youth and their families through coordination with community stakeholders to host: (a) youth workshops and stakeholder in-services, (b) small group educational programs, and (c) deliver educational material to improve understanding and make better choices.

2.       BUILDING AWARENESS TO YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES:

LEAN builds awareness focused on youth’s problematic behaviors. Through (a) in-person speaking engagements in the community, (b) physical, and (c) digital marketing campaigns, we raise awareness for youth, families, and other stakeholders and direct them to LEAN’s available resources.

3.       CONNECTING AT-RISK YOUTH AND FAMILIES WITH SUPPORTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES:

LEAN works to connect high-risk youth with various resources in the community by (a) directing youth and their families to available education, (b) connecting youth with mental health professionals with specified training, and (c) maintaining a hotline for youth and families concerned with at-risk behaviors.
